Sub-Project D: Road Vehicle Noise
SP D will develop the necessary experimental and calculation tools allowing car manufacturers to translate global vehicle emission requirements into detailed indications with respect to structural adaptations of the power train and tuned engine bay treatment, also in view of future lightweight car body structures. Special emphasis will be placed on ‘fast methods’ to be used in a highly dynamic industrial environment characterised by rapidly changing prototypal configurations and by extremely quick time-to-market requirements. These techniques will be used to push the development of advanced noise reduction technologies.
