Sub-Project H: Road Traffic Flow
SP H will develop practical urban traffic management techniques that city authorities can use to reduce traffic noise. The sub-project will take a holistic view of the integrated policies and legislation used to manage traffic flows and will look at the interactions between traffic management and driver behaviour. It will also examine how systems for monitoring noise emissions from vehicles can play a role in traffic management. A toolkit will be developed with techniques, monitoring, appraisal methods, costs and benefits.
The following public reports will become available in the course of the project:
Effectiveness and Benefits of Traffic Flow Measures on Noise Control
Toolkit – Noise reduction in urban areas from traffic and driver management (beginning 2008)
